Amanda is a North Carolina native with over 12 years of experience in private and corporate event planning. Amanda holds a master’s degree in public affairs from Western Carolina University and is a certified event planner and certified nonprofit professional. She enjoys making clients feel confident and comfortable so they can enjoy their special day with friends and family. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys reading, cooking, the outdoors, and spending time with her dog Archer!

Heidi has over 20 years experience in the events and planning industry. She’s always loved the creativity and moving parts involved in events and has known for a long time that this is where her passion would lead her! She is a WNC native and has been dubbed a “wedding psychiatrist” for her ability to calm even the most hectic of brides (and mother’s of the bride!).

Tristen has worked in the event industry since he was 16 years old. At 24 he is in tune with the industry in a way only a millennial can be. Tristen manages several aspects of the company from event staff management to keeping us alive and well on social media and bookkeeping. We would be lost without him!

We work for you and with you, so together we can breathe life into your vision and make it a reality. Here at Black Orchid we also value teamwork and we are happy to work with other planners! We often step in and simply provide staff such as a day of event manager, bar staff or simply someone to help out in the kitchen. We believe that each event and client deserves a truly holistic approach to the event they are planning.
